It's happening!! It's not a drill!!

So... I know it's been a while, but I've come back to report an exciting update regarding my book!

My debut YA romantasy book, Love Be Damned, is coming out this May!!!

It's coming out May 15th, to be exact! Save the date!

I know this is a media blog that's been focused on movies and TV shows over the past few years (if you forgive my extended absences), but this book has been taking up most of my life for the past few years, and so it's nice to be able to share it with you all.

Love Be Damned means a lot to me, and not just because it's my first published novel. This is a book that I started writing in college because I felt that Black girls weren't really seen, and now I get to put out a piece of work that shows Black girls in the light I know we deserve. 

What with the news of Black girls (specifically monoracial Black girls) being erased from TV and movies ( Marvel's Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur getting axed after two seasons, The Sex Lives of College Girls being canceled, along with at least a handful of other Black shows that were recently canned), it's important to me to write something like Love Be Damned to show that Black girls are still out here, and they do still deserve to be loved- out loud.

With that said, I'm probably going to start posting more here about the media that I like (more movies and TV shows) and less about this book once things finally start to calm down. Maybe I'll write a blog post about one of my favorite old movies, The Heiress (1949), because I could definitely write an entire college dissertation on this movie.
